An innovative experimental setup, designed and built by research groups from INFN (including INFN LNL) and the French CEA, promises to revolutionize the search for light dark matter candidates, called axions, by significantly improving the sensitivity of current detectors. The study, recently published in the journal Physical Review X, presents a new experimental setup based on the use of superconducting circuits that exploit qubits to reveal the extremely weak signals generated by the possible presence of axions.
