LNL Accelerators
Six accelerators are available at LNL: CN, AN2000, TANDEM, ALPI, PIAVE, SPES.
Three of them (CN, AN2000 and TANDEM) are electrostatic accelerators with different and complementary performances.
ALPI is a linear RF accelerator (linac), based on superconducting quarter wave resonators and used to give an energy boost to ions already accelerated by the TANDEM.
PIAVE is also a linear RF accelerator; it is based on a superconducting RFQ ("Radio Frequency Quadrupole)" configuration; it can be used as ALPI injector.
SPES is a facility to provide the acceleration of exotic beams (Radioactive Beams).
