Partitioning

1. Place the CD called "GParted-Clonezilla 2.0" into the CD drive

2. (Re)boot the PC

3. Choose "Clonezilla-live -- force VESA" from the booting options

4. Hard disk partitioning 

 a) Group 1 (primary partitions): 
   - /boot (ext3, 2 GB)
 b) Group 2 (extended partitions):
   - /home (logical, ext3, 40 GB)
   - /opt (logical, ext3, 40 GB)
   - /swap (logical, linux swap, 4 GB)
   - / (logical, ext3, <remaining space>)

You may already have an NTFS Windows partition, which you can live intact but restrict to e.g. 10 GB's.
